Lack of Assurance

Are you a genuine Christian or not? Many people claim to be Christians, but few actually are (Matthew 7:13, 14, 21-23). Do you sometimes lack assurance of your salvation? This is a common concern among Christians and it is very unsettling for those who suffer from this vexing problem. There are several reasons why professing Christians may lack assurance of salvation.

False Assurance

Far worse than lack of assurance is false assurance. Imagine the shock, horror, and grief of going through life wrongly believing that you have found favor with God only to find out otherwise when you finally meet Christ the King and He tells you to depart from Him. By then it’s too late to do anything about it. The scriptures warn us repeatedly that this is going to be the experience of many on Judgment Day. Do NOT be one of those people!

Spiritual Self Examination
